Everything Is Figureoutable says start before you're sure
Marie Forleo's mother fixed a broken radio shaped like an orange, with screwdrivers and electrical tape. Her phrase for jobs like that became the title of Forleo's book.
Forleo spent years making MarieTV, her online show, before she wrote this. The book came out in 2019.
Our favourite chapter is about the gap between thinking about a decision and acting on it. Forleo says you find out what you want by starting.
Forleo on getting unstuck
Clarity comes from engagement, not thought.
Start the smallest version of the thing today and see what you learn. The most powerful words in the universe are the words you say to yourself.
Say it to yourself before a hard phone call.Whenever you're trapped in the hell of indecision, do something about it as quickly as possible.
Everything is figureoutable.
Fifteen ways through
The exercise in the Astera workspace is named after the book. Write down one thing you're stuck on and list every way through it, sensible and ridiculous. Then star the ones you'd try.
Aim for fifteen. Your first three ideas are the ones you've already had. Past ten you start writing silly ones, and a workable plan is often a serious version of one of those.
